Ward Service Auction Information

On September 24th our ward activity will be a Service Auction. Each family in the ward is being asked to donate some type of service, or if time is hard to give, you may donate an item. For example, your family may donate 1 hour of yard work, painting one room, or if you are short on time, maybe you’ll bake a cake, or make a dinner someone can freeze and use when needed. You may donate as a family, as individuals, or both. Please be creative and have fun! This is an excellent opportunity for you to have a FHE lesson on service and the different gifts that you and your family members have, which can bless others. I testify that service grows love. I know that each person in this ward has a gift that can bless someone else. Be prayerful and again have fun and be creative when deciding what service you and your family can donate. Attached you will find a “service donation form.” We are asking you to fill out and return this form by Sept. 12th.

We will be providing you with “bishop bucks” to use as money to bid with and pay for any service that you want on the night of the auction. Each person in the ward, including youth and primary children, has an opportunity to earn $1000 bishop bucks. Each auxiliary has created specific ways for you to earn your bishop bucks. Attached to this letter you will find this information. You may start earning your bishop bucks today. The last day to earn your bishop bucks will be September 19th. We are asking you to turn in how much you earned on Sunday September 19th, so that we can get all the money printed and ready for you on auction night.

On the night of the auction, the primary children will use their bishop bucks at a primary store, where they will be able to purchase some items. It is important that you are on time to this activity so that the primary children have enough time to go to the primary store before the auction begins.

We know that this is a lot to do for a ward activity, but we know that each person in the ward will benefit from it. Thank you for participating!

Sincerely,
Edie Atkinson, 801-805-6520, edie.atkinson@gmail.com

Carley Humpherys, 253-302-2461, cardust@gmail.com

All papers need to be returned to Edie Atkinson or Carley Humpherys and can be done in person, through email, or even regular mail, however it works for you to get it to us.

Dates to remember:

We will also urge the children to perform acts of service at home such making the bed for a sibling or cleaning something without being asked. Donate Blood this Week

Our stake still needs volunteers to donate blood. We have missed most of the sign up sheets at church, so as an alternative you can sign up to donate blood on the following website https://www.givelife.org/sitecoordinator/ .

To login use m
eastman (username)/meastman (password). A page will come up which shows the two dates of the blood drive/prepardness fair, click on "schedule" and follow the instructions to sign yourself up. If you have any problems signing up this way please contact Carley Humpherys: cardust@gmail.com or 253-302-2461. We are short of our goal so please help by volunteering or encouraging your spouse and friends to donate. Thank you!

To donate you cannot be pregnant and must be at least 6 weeks postpartum.

Baby Formula

I have a can of specialty baby formula called Enfacare. It is very expensive formula. I was wondering if you knew a family that would be able to use it. I don't want it to go to waste and would love to help someone. I also have a partial can of enfamil Nutramigen formula. It is also expensive, i don't want to throw either away if there is a family that can use them. Both formulas are for babies with protein allergies, although the enfacare is for severe protein and food allergies. If you know someone who can benefit from either please let me know. Thank you.

Does anyone have an 8 ft banquet table I could borrow. I am looking for 2-3 tables and table cloths as well. If you have one you wouldn't mind lending out, or know someone that does, could you please let me know as soon as possible?

Thanks so much,
