Please join us in the Bentonville Holiday Parade!

We are in urgent need of people to participate on the Church float in the Bentonville Holiday Parade this Saturday December 5th. We will need lots of folks (families, too, with children over 5 years old) to sing Christmas Carols and others to represent Mary, Joseph, shepherds and wisemen (costumes will be provided.) Please join us!

We will meet between 10 and 10:30 am in the big Walmart parking lot next to the new Fire station on SW A St. We are in section B. Look for our Nativity float.

This would be a fun, wonderful opportunity to represent the church, wave to your friends and your neighbors along the parade route, and make a family memory. We need YOU!

Natvities Needed for the Chorale

Please see note below from Abbey Bell. 

I am the rep. in our ward for the Nativity displays at the Ozark Mormon Chorale. Since I am in Primary it is difficult to get into relief society to announce it and bring the sign up sheet. If there are any sisters who weren't able to sign up earlier they can contact me by phone 208-716-1989 or email abigailobell@gmail.com and sign up to bring a nativity set.  (For those of you who might be new this year, they need these nativities to be displayed in the gym.  They are on "loan" for 2 days, then you get them back. =)  Even if you don't have a nativity for them to use, you should check out the display... it's really amazing!)

It is going to be at the Rogers Stake Center. Drop off is Thursday Dec. 10 from 5 - 8:30 pm in the stake center gym and Pick up is Saturday Dec. 12 at 9 pm. Also they have asked that a few sisters from our ward volunteer to come to the stake center around 8:15 am on Friday the 11th to help with setting up the nativities and decorations. I am thinking that 4 or 5 sisters would be plenty. Please contact me if you are able to come and help.

WOW~ Woman Of Worth

Charman Jean Beasley

was born in Greenville Mississippi.  She grew up in Greenville and Southaven Mississippi. Which is about ten miles from Memphis Tennessee

Charmen & Billy have been married for 15 years and they have two kids Christopher 10 and Carolyn just turned 8 in November.

Charman has lived in many different places. Like: Jacksonville NC, Greenville MS, Hernando MS, Southaven MS, & Branson MO.

But her favorite place would have to be….Bentonville, AR!

”I have to say Bentonville is the best place I have ever lived because It is only a 5 1/2 hour drive from family … I do miss the ocean in North Carolina though… but, I love the Centerton ward.

Charman’s favorite food~ pasta (yummy)!

Charman is a Dental Assistant and in her free time she enjoys fishing and playing Farmville.

One of her most embarrassing moments was when she was little and it is best told in her own words…. “My mom and brother for some reason always called me turkey. So on my first day of school we are taking turns in front of the class saying our names. I did not know my last name so I figured it must be turkey. So, I said my name was Charman Jean Turkey. I bet some of those kids are still laughing at me. I thought I would never get over that.”

Something about me that you would not know is….

“I use to mannequin model for Sears and modeled for World Wide posters in Memphis.

 My mom wanted me to be the next Miss America.

But that was her dream not mine.

 I quit all that stuff when I moved out of her house."

Charman’s dream would be that her kids stay close to the gospel and get married in the temple someday.

 

Of all her callings her favorites are: food storage coordinator, primary, Sunday school secretary,

assistant cub scout leader

 relief society board member, nursery,

& activities committee. 

 But my all time favorite would be

cub scouts and the eight year olds in primary because,

I did not go through primary as a child

so I felt like I was learning a lot teaching the 8 year olds.

Charmans favorite Latter-day Prophet is Gordon B Hinckley. She was able to hear him talk in Southaven MS once and it was wonderful!

 

Charman is an amazing woman with a lot of strength in her young age. We are lucky to have her in our RS and ward. Be sure to grab her in the hall and introduce yourself if you do not already know each other

Does anyone need a Christmas tree?

We have a Christmas tree that  we no longer need.  It is a 7 ft. prelit tree that needs a new home.  First person to come and pick it up can have it!   If you would like to know more about it call  Kate Wilcox 685-5928

Humanitarian Angel Tree and Food Drive

Our Humanitarian activity for the month of December will be to have our own angel tree for the local Women's Shelter. This tree will be set up in the foyer of the church and will be decorated with paper ornaments that have items written on the back. Please take an ornament from the tree, purchase the item(s) listed and return with the ornament to either Kristen Cornelsen, Lyndsay Jensen, Carrie Costello, or Melissa Morales.

We will also be doing a food drive for the shelter. While speaking with them, they expressed a strong need for food donations. Next to our angel tree will be a box where you can drop off any non perishable food items you may be willing to donate. The tree and the food donation box will be at the church this Sunday and all items and food will need to be turned in by Wednesday December 16th. Hopefully through our service we can get the needs of the women and their children at the shelter taken care of, and maybe give them a little something extra as well!

NWACC Needs Pianist for 20 min.

The college is needing someone to play piano for an Event on Friday December 11, starting at 3:45 for 20 minutes. They are just wanting someone who can play Christmas music. Stake Priesthood Meeting on Saturday
