The public viewing segment of the contest starts now and the video with the most total YouTube views by midnight on Nov. 13th will win a trip to have dinner with Glenn in NYC and see his radio show in person. If you like his video, there are several ways you could help to spread the video:

The Illustrations of ARD HOYT

This was in the newspaper this morning!  If you haven't check out Ard Hoyts's childrens books, be sure and do so!!  He's a very talented artist.

Inspired by Place: The Illustrations of ARD HOYT and Cara Armstrong 11/06/2009 - 01/03/2010

Inspired by Place: The Illustrations of ARD HOYT and Cara Armstrong presents artwork by two children’s book illustrators who celebrate the people and places that make us feel at home. Ranging from a dog’s-eye-view of Frank Lloyd Wright’s residential masterwork Fallingwater, to a little boy’s dreamtime swim with manatees through his home, the artwork in the exhibition represents both the imaginative fantasy and emotional warmth that characterizes the best work in children’s literature.

Inspired by Place is the first gallery exhibition for both Hoyt and Armstrong and will include videotaped interviews with both artists.

CRYSTAL BRIDGES: A special preview and reception of "Inspired by Place: Illustrations by ARD HOYT and Cara Armstrong" will take place from 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday at Crystal Bridges at the Massey, 125 West Central Avenue. A discussion with the artists will take place prior to the event at 5:30 pm at the Bentonville Public Library. The collection will be displayed through Jan 3. 2009 Clothing Drive and Clothing Give-Away

2009 "Clothes Line": Clothing Drive & GIVEAWAY is next  Saturday.

So what is it? The evening of  November 6th, Carl, Desiree and volunteers are going to empty their store  (leaving some of their own donations) and restock with over 8,000 articles of  clothing to be given away on November 7th. The store will be open to  anyone. It is our goal to give every single article of clothing away. There will be mens, women and children clothing in all sizes.  The clothing will be on hangers and arranged just like a any clothing store so  that shopping will be easy for the families.

A grassroots NWA citizens helping citizens. Ya gotta love it. You can help.  Here is a list of some of items still in need:  Volunteers to help tear down and set up Friday evening November 6th and Saturday evening November 7th Volunteers to help during the event  November 7th Volunteers to contact organizations, churches  and businesses to make sure that the citizens of NWA most in need are aware and have a way to get here.

Trunk or Treat Primary Activity

TRUNK OR TREAT

Saturday, October 31st from 4:00-5:30 at the church.

• Costume Contest
• Trunk decorating contest
• Activity for the kids

This is a family activity.  Stay and help your child with the craft and then the trunk or treat will start about 4:45.  Remember to decorate your trunk for the contest. Please bring candy to pass out for the TRUNK-R-TREAT. There will be a Costume Parade so don't forget your cameras. Come and join in the fun!!

Free Seasonal Flu Shots

The Arkansas Dept of Health will provide a seasonal mass flu clinic (this is not the H1N1 (swine flu) vaccine. The clinic will offer free flu shots for the community, including nonresidents.

• Bella Vista: 8 am to 6 pm, Friday, Oct 30, 2009, at Riordan Hall, 7 Kingsdale Lane.

•  Rogers: 8 am - 6 pm Friday, Rogers Activity Center, 305 West Olive Street.

• Siloam Springs: 8 am - 6 pm Friday, Eastgate Church of Christ, 1997 US 412 East.

WOW... Woman of Worth

De Anne Christoffersen
(Day-On-Ahh)

De Anne was born in Utah
and has lived in 22 different locations
all over the country.
However, Arkansas definitely
feels like home and is now her favorite place to live.
As a military child, she attended
6 elementary schools,
2 junior highs,
and 3 high schools
WOW!

She is the oldest of four siblings
two brothers and a sister.

De Anne is married to Marty
they have three beautiful daughters
Addyson is 15 and a sophomore at BHS
Jessica is 13 and in 8th grade at LJHS
Rylee is 11 and in 6th grade at SHMS.

De Anne’s favorite color is green and she loves anything Italian..
De Anne loves to sew, bake, and do crafts of all sorts. But rarely finds the time. One of De Anne’s most embarrassing moments was in high school. The story is best told in her own words:
I was a cheerleader at all three high schools. I was also a very strong tumbler. I also had a tendency to show off. On one particular occasion I took a pretty rough fall, just as the person (a really cute boy) that I was trying to impress turned to watch. The fall even tore my skirt which was just icing on the cake!!

Something you might not know about De Anne is she is a math nerd. She used to compete in math competitions winning several state and regional competitions.

If De Anne had to name a movie or book that best describes her life it would be: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. She is a self-professed chocoholic. The best part is she has a stash of chocolate at all times because you never know when a chocolate emergency will come about!

(I know where I am heading next time I have a chocolate emergency.. Too Funny!)

One of her favorite Latter-day Prophets is President Kimball.
De Anne says.. I remember his loving eyes and the genuine concern that I felt he had for me personally. I remember so vividly when he died. This was the first time that I had lost someone that I loved so dearly.

Baby Gibson

Megan and Tony Gibson have a new baby boy, Charlie D. Gibson, who was born on October 22nd.  He weighs 8 pounds 3 ounces and is 18-3/4" long!   We're so happy for these first time parents and wish them the best of luck!

Book: REBIRTH

The note below is from a new sister in the ward whose name is Sandra Olsen. She has some exciting news to share with us:

I just had my first novel published in July. It is a medical thriller (I'm a nurse) and has nothing foul or offensive in it. I have several copies if anyone would be interested in buying one.
