Looking for Temple Trip Kid Swap

We're planning to attend the temple this month and wondering if any other family is also going and looking to do a kid swap? (of course this is if the roads are safe to travel on) Send me an e-mail if you want to swap kids!

Block of the Month

Dear Sisters,
It is that time again and we WILL begin our Block of the Month sewing project! It will be Thurs. Jan. 27 at 9am in the morning at the Centerton church.
I cannot tell you how much material you will need as we are not following any one project; we will turn it into one, though!
So, as a rough estimate: choose 1-1 1/2 yds of about 6 coordinating fabrics. Each square will be a 12" block when you are through
OR, you can use up all scraps you have and make a true "scrap quilt".
This will be fun, it should not take a very long time as we will only work on 1 square each month.
Here is an example of one of the squares we will be making: The Contrary Wife Block
Come enjoy making other blocks with titles like: Arkansas Crossroads
Betty's Delight
Chimney's and Cornerstones
Ohio Star and much, much more!
Any questions? Contact Leslee Lai, laijiating@hotmail.com

Ward Talent Show

Just a reminder about our upcoming Talent Show activity. It is scheduled for 22 January from 6:30 – 8:00 PM. It is being held at the Centerton building. Each family is asked to bring a plate of goodies to share for our dessert bar. If you have already signed up you will be receiving an email from me to give you all of the specifics about performing. If you want to still sign up please email me or call me with you info and talent you want to perform. There will be a gallery display for those wishing to display their talent. The girls will take turns being in charge of that room to protect the items from roaming children and hands. If you are not performing please come out for an evening of fun and bonding with your fellow ward family. This should be a really fun night. Look forward to seeing you there.

Service Opportunity

The Centerton Elem. School PTO mtg for Jan. is scheduled for the 11th (a tuesday night) at 6:30. They have asked our church if we could please provide 2 people to watch children in the gym so that parents can attend the mtg.
You DO NOT have to supply any activities. Just keep an eye on the kiddos. The last mtg. the volunteers for this came from the local Baptist church and people who did not have kids at the school. Please contact me if you can help, your service will be greatly appreciated!

Send a Free Christmas Card to a Soldier

XEROX IS DOING SOMETHING COOL

If you go to this web site, www.LetsSayThanks.com you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq. You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to a member of the armed services.

How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!! It is FREE and it only takes a second.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if the soldiers received a bunch of these? Whether you are for or against the war, our soldiers over there need to know we are behind them.

This takes just 10 seconds and it's a wonderful way to say thank you. Please take the time and please take the time to pass it on for others to do. We can never say enough thank you's.

Thanks for taking to time to support our military!

New Book Group

Sisters,
Joy Jackson and Lacey Schofield would like to start a book group in our Ward. We will have our first one on Thursday January 6th at Jessica Brumfield's home. We will meet at 8:30 and we will be discussing "The Cross Gardener" by Jason F. Wright. Jessica will be hosting this one as well as leading the discussion. If you are interested in attending book groups please come, if you can't make this one, please email me at lacey_schofield@yahoo.com, so that I can put you on the email list. This is not a relief society activity, but it is a good way to get to know the other sisters in our ward. Also please feel free to invite others to join us.

Our first meeting we will choose books, hosts, and discussion leaders for the next few meetings. We will also discuss the day we will be meeting. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me or Joy Jackson. I hope to see you all there.

Please feel free to bring a treat and to come even if you haven't read the book. Again, please contact me if you would like to continue to be on the distribution list at lacey_schofield@yahoo.com.

Free Christmas Tree

My neighbor has an artificial tree he would like to give away to someone who needs one. It is probably 7-8 feet tall. Let me know if you want it.
