April Book Group
We had a great time discussing Book of a Thousand Days on Thursday. Thank you Joy for leading our discussion and Chelsie for hosting. I have to say that was the best bean dip I have ever tasted! There is nothing better than an evening with friends and yummy treats!!
For April, we are going to try something a little different. We are going to be reading The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks. There is a movie based on this book that is coming soon to theaters. On Thursday, April 1st, we will meet at the movie theater and watch the movie together. I am thinking we will probably go for dessert and discussion afterward. I don't have details yet because the theater doesn't have showtimes released that far in advance. Just be sure to mark you calendars!
Also, if you would like to get a jump on reading, here are our next few books:
May- The Five Love Languages or The Five Love Languages of Children by Gary Chapman. We did the original book a few years back and it was a huge sucess. If you have already read the original, you may want to check out the "for children" version. We will incorporate both into the discussion.
June- The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins (you will probably also want to read book #2 in the series, Catching Fire)
July- We would like to find a really good book on health and fitness since this is a topic that we have never done. Some suggestions are: Love Your Body: A Diet-Free Approach to Balanced Eating by Brooke Parker or You: on a Diet by Michael F. Roizen M.d. If anyone has read either of these or if you have any other good ideas, please let me know!
Happy reading!
